Balu Sir Summer Camp, held for the fourth year in succession, began on 1st May 2017. It was a 13- day camp, with timing between 9.30 am - 1.00 pm. Totally 80 children participated -60 from Bala Mandir and 20 from the nearby urban slum. Food was sponsored by Sri Krishna Sweets for the children during the camp.A Valedictory Function was organized on 13th May at the Bala Mandir Rajagopalan Hall, Satyamurthi High School- Chennai, where children exhibited what they had learnt during the camp.

The following were taught:

• Theatre Art

• Three  different styles of dance - Kathak, Dandiya and western dance

• Drawing

• Craft

The drawing and craft work created by the children was displayed. The Chief Guest, Ms. Rajani Seshadri-Executive Coach, awarded the children with medals and certificate for their participation. A separate camp was held for the 92 children from Toddlers & Sub-juniors (Classes from LKG to Standard II). They performed Dandiya dance and presented art work exhibition during the valedictory function.
