MNC - Unit for Exceptional Children

Established in 1989, Madhuram Narayanan Centre (MNC) for Exceptional Children provides Early Intervention services in the age group 0 to 6 years and training towards developing Vocational skills in the age group 6 years and above, for children with intellectual disabilities and associated conditions, as well as support in the empowerment of parents and dissemination of information. This covers children with Mental Retardation (MR), Developmental Delays (DD) and associated disabilities like Autism spectrum disorder (ASD), Down’s syndrome (DS), Cerebral Palsy (CP), Hydrocephaly, Microcephaly, Metabolic Disorders and Attention Deficit Hyperactive Disorder (ADHD).

Over the years thousands of children have benefited from MNC’s services. Training at the Center is based on "Upanayan" – Early Intervention Program, developed by an inter-disciplinary team of experts from various specialties such as, Developmental Psychology, Neo-Natology, Audiology, Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy, Sensory Integration Therapist, Special Education and Information Technology. MNC was integrated with Bala Mandir in the year 2018, after many years of working together in various areas.
