Founder’s Day was celebrated on the 23rd September, in memory of Mrs. Manjubhashini, Founder of Bala Mandir. Ms Vimala Kannan, Member of MNC, was the Chief Guest for the event. She shared her experiences with Manjumma, and encouraged the children to follow values espoused by her. The Home children presented a Villuppaattu on the life of Manjumma, who loved music. Madras Youth Choir presented multi-lingual choral music with national integration, folk and unity as the theme, which the children enjoyed singing along with.
